When we first created our Red Warden product it was developed without charity affiliation. But one day my best friend flew in for a visit and was engaged in a conversation with my nine-year-old daughter as they talked about my best friends belated daughter. We didn’t tell my daughter the reason she never had the opportunity to meet his daughter was the consequence of a tragic suicide. We told my daughter she was in heaven, and seeing my daughter’s deep sadness brought back raw emotions associated with that painful night when my best friend lost his only child. On that day, I knew my company was going to be changed forever! In an instant, we aimed to figure out how we were going to link the company we had been building, to support foundations that prevent families in the future from sharing the same painstaking conversation with their love ones, as we shared with our nine-year-old daughter.
As the CEO, I share a personal bond to a list of charities which have ignited my call to action, and recognizing the genuineness of my commitment is clear when you understand my inspiration. What do you say to your best friend when he telephones you hysterically in the middle of the night as he tries his best to tell you his only daughter was just murdered by her mother before she took her own life! I’ve received that call, and besides feeling hurt and anger, I am displeased with the insufficient attention directed towards the responsiveness to empower mental illness professionals. Mental illness is not associated with gender, ethnicity, or religion, yet its prevalent to so many, and is virtually hidden from society from a visual standpoint. The US government has slashed financial support for people with mental illness, only compels our desire to partner with NAMI to help raise funds and awareness. As more of our brave military members return home with PTSD after serving in war zones, we realize the need to support mental illness professionals now is greater than ever. We hold veterans near and dear to our hearts, and learning NAMI has submitted testimony for a congressional hearing on veterans with PTSD, only proves their leadership and commitment is a proactive component for veterans, greatly deserving of our support. Twenty veterans committing suicide a day is an alarming statistic; thank you NAMI for standing up for our veterans, as we pledge our allegiance to stand up for your cause. In honor of my best friend’s daughter chimera, we want to be a part of your solution to reach more people before further lives are lost.
The one day I noticed my nine-year old daughter was bringing home request slips on more than one occasion asking for supplies to supplement materials needed for projects within her classroom. Our family has always been motivated to assist our daughter’s class with supplying materials that help inspire and foster enthusiasm, and thankfully we are always able to oblige. But then we started wondering if other parents in the school, or throughout the nation were able to accommodate material for their children’s classroom. If not, did that mean other children do not get to experience the same creative inspiration that is afforded to our child. I talked about this with my daughter, where we learned she has classmates where some parents cannot help. So together my daughter and I did a research project of our own, which led us to Donors Choose.
As the CEO, I share a personal bond to a list of charities which have ignited my call to action, and recognizing the genuineness of my commitment is clear when you understand my inspiration. My daughter is an extremely smart student who attends public school, so we understand firsthand the value gained through school projects. We also believe that every child, regardless of circumstance deserves the right to know what it feels like to complete a class project, which may one day inspire a child to become a doctor, scientist, or even an educator. The thought of any child being deprived from such an experience deserves our full attention, and as such we have chosen to support Donors Choose to help them continue their objective to fund all public-school projects in the United States of America.
When we first created our Red Warden product it was developed without a charity affiliation. But one night after reading to my daughter before bed, she asked if all moms and dads read to their children at night. Without hesitation I answered yes, as my daughter replied that’s good because she likes cool stories during the holidays and learning about fun places to one-day visit. It wasn’t until that night when my daughter asked a simple question, that lead me to wonder how many adults throughout the nation do not read to their children because they can’t read. On that day I knew my company was going to be changed forever! In an instant, we aimed to figure out how we were going to link the company we had been building, to support organizations like ProLiteracy, who teaches adults to read so children will be inspired to dream.
As the CEO, I share a personal bond to a list of charities which have ignited my call to action, and recognizing the genuineness of my commitment is clear when you understand my inspiration. When we first discovered ProLiteracy and read the statement; “a safer, stronger, and more sustainable society starts with an educated adult population” their statement strongly resonated with us after we learned there are parents throughout the world that lack the ability to read, but have a strong desire to learn. Reading creates an inspiring opportunity for parents when they read to their children, stimulating imagination that transports families to places beyond their neighborhood.
One day while watching the news there was a horrifying fire that completely consumed a string of homes. Firefighter, after firefighter entered these homes engulfed in flames as they attempted to save lives without hesitation. Observing these incredible defeats rendered the word “brave” an understatement. That night during the evening news, I learned all lives were saved by these amazing firefighters, and we were greatly relieved that none of the firefighters were hurt or killed themselves. These startling events led us to question who takes care of the heroic men and women that continuously place their life on the line each time they enter a home consumed in fire to save human life, and who watches over their families if they are fallen.
After examining the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, I knew my company was going to be changed forever! In an instant we aimed to figure out how we were going to link the company we had been building, to support an organization that plays a key role in our society.
As the CEO, I share a personal bond to a list of charities which have ignited my call to action, and recognizing the genuineness of my commitment is clear when you understand my inspiration. I know two firefighters who are like family to us, so we take choosing a foundation that supports them very seriously. I also have a nine-year-old daughter, and the thought of a firefighter responding to my home to walk through fire to save my little girl has triggered my appreciation to support the firefighter community. They have launched major initiatives to reduce line-of-duty firefighter deaths by 25 percent in 5 years is extremely commendable.
When we first created our Red Warden product it was done without a charity affiliation. But then one day we witnessed a horrific event unfold in Orlando, Florida where many lives were lost. At the end, so many lives were saved due to the brave response of law enforcement, prompting our commitment to support these men and women in a completely different capacity. This tragic occurrence educated us to the fact that these courageous men and women have lost life year after year while trying to save others. We want to elevate our support to a group of people who put their lives on the line every day to protect the citizens of this great nation, leaving us to ask, who is there for their families when they are fallen. Our goal is to support C.O.P.S. We invite everyone reading this now to stand up and support the men and women of law enforcement, and the family and Co-workers they leave behind.
As the CEO, I share a personal bond to a list of charities which have ignited my call to action, and recognizing the genuineness of my commitment is clear when you understand my inspiration. I live in Orlando Florida, where the largest mass shooting in American history triggered the response from 27 law enforcement agencies as they responded to a nightclub involved terrorist shooting. Mercifully no officers were killed during this catastrophic incident, but the aftermath made us all be aware of the fallen officers during other occurrences throughout the United States, substantiating the importance, and the need to support the families, and co-workers of in-line of duty fallen officers. We pledge a 10% donation from every sale from a purchased label designed especially for C.O.P.S. Join the fight, support C.O.P.S. today.
