Use

Our Red Warden track-your-device labels should be placed on the outside of a device, or the device’s cover for easy viewing.

For laptops, we recommend labels are placed on the backside of the viewing screen so onlookers can read the label’s warning statement when the device is in use.

Before placing a label on a device, ensure placement is where you want the label to remain permanently. For your protection labels are designed to be affixed only once.

If your cellular telephone displays the device serial number on the outside and easily visible, this would be a great product to use on a cellular telephone. Additionally, before purchase the device owner must first insure the 2-inch by 3 ½ inch tracking label can fit on the telephone without obstructing any of its functions. Proper label placement must also allow the device serial number to be visible to the finder.

Most cellular telephones do-not display their serial numbers on the outside of a device, and wouldn’t be able to find it without going through the owner’s device setting to locate that needed serial number. In this case, using our track-my-device label is not feasible for a cell phone because we will not advise a finder to enter a cellular telephone which does not belong to them. Such actions may have legal ramifications and therefore we will never advise a finder to take such actions. Besides, if a cellular telephone was lost in an airport, TSA has a policy that prevents employees from turning on a cell phone, laptop, or tablet to locate an owner. Privatized airports hold the same policy.

We recommend taking a picture of the device plate located on the back of your laptop or tablet using  your phone, then expand that picture for larger viewing to obtain your device’s serial number.
